Lavender Dreams

Many of my friends know that lavender is my favorite scent. I had a local letterpress artist draw one for my business cards and it also played a major role in my old website design. I even sprayed lavender hydrosol on my letters - that's how obsessed I am about this healing plant. I was mulling over all the lavender-based products I've used in the past and wanted to share some that made my all-time favorite list.

Diptyque makes a lovely Feuille de Lavande (Lavender Leaf) room spray. The grassy notes from the leaves make this a more unique blend. Although it's meant to be used as a room scent, I sometimes use it on my linens and even on my hair.

Another favorite is elizabethW. This SF-based company makes a lot of great fragrances for body and home use. They also have fun gift items like lavender sachets, lingerie bags, candles, diffusers, hanger covers, etc.

Sonoma Lavender is my go-to for a good lavender massage oil. I try to attend their annual lavender festival each summer in June. That's when you can buy many of their products at a huge discount.

My local Whole Foods carries this amazing organic lavender soap from Cow Track Creations. It's ultra moisturizing and highly fragrant. The company is based in Nicasio, CA, so you can order from them directly. They also offer this soap in eight other scents.

For a little pick me up, NY-based Soap & Paper Factory has a great perfume solid that you can tuck into your purse or jacket pocket. The cruelty-free fragrance blend contains jojoba and beeswax.

For editorial consideration, a sample from Soap & Paper Factory was provided for this post.

I love the fragrance of lavender, too. It always reminds me blissfully of being at a spa. I have a lavender plant in my yard. Every time I water it, some of the flowers scatter a bit, and release their perfume. It's heaven.

Smelling it reminds me of being in the South of France. I even bake my cupcakes with lots of crushed lavender! :)
