July 4th Cocktails with Zacapa Rum

If you're planning a BBQ this weekend and need drink ideas, I've got a couple of delicious Zacapa Rum cocktail recipes below for inspiration. If you don't have Zacapa handy, use a high quality rum to substitute. Have a safe and happy 4th! 

Zacapa Honey Fizz

Ingredients:

2 ounces Zacapa 23 Rum
Splash of club soda
1 ounce lemon juice
1 ounce honey syrup

Preparation:

1. Combine Zacapa 23 Rum, lemon juice, and honey syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Pour into a rocks glass.
3. Top with club soda.

Ideal Serving Glass: Rocks glass

 

Fresh Apple Spritzer

Ingredients:

1 ounce Zacapa Rum 23
2 ounces Sparkling wine
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup
3 drops apple cider vinegar
Spritz of Allspice Dram

Preparation:

1. Combine Zacapa Rum 23, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and 3 drops of apple cider vinegar into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.
2. Strain into a coupe glass. Top with sparkling wine and an atomized spritz of Allspice Dram.

Ideal Serving Glass: Coupe glass

OK, am I the only one who doesn't know what "honey syrup'' is? So, it's not just regular honey out of a jar? ;)
