Bobbi Brown Beauty Rules Book
I wish I had Bobbi Brown's Beauty Rules book when I was a teen. Adolescence is such a difficult time for so many of us. If I had Bobbi's encouraging voice to steer me in the right direction, I'd be all set in the beauty and fashion departments. Dishing out lots of sensible beauty advice, her sixth book is solely focused on young women in their teens and twenties.
I love looking at all these before-and-after after makeovers of normal young women. Most of the models are real girls from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds, and it's quite refreshing to see them not being airbrushed to death. There are plenty of easy and natural-looking makeup tips for every occasion as well as approachable chapters on exercise, diet, hair styling, and skincare. There's even a section on grooming for the guys!
What's really uplifting is that the book also profiles mothers who have been models in their youth. It's wonderful to see them managing healthy relationships with their daughters in terms of self esteem and body image. It's so important to have a parent be a strong role model.
Local SF Beauty Alert: Bobbi Brown will be making a special appearance for her new Beauty Rules book this Friday, November 5 at the downtown SF Nordstrom (11am-1pm). Here's your chance to meet Bobbi in the flesh and to get your book signed! Makeovers will also take place between 10am-6pm. To book an appointment call 415-243-8500 x1411.

I love Bobbi Brown beauty books-- they're very down to earth yet capture so much beauty in them
I love her makeup. I like a natural look and Bobbi Brown excels at that.
