Cookie and the Dude
September 17, 2008 Gosh, these Cookie and the Dude headbands are soooo cute! I met the owner Helen Fawcett a few years back at the 2004 SF Fashion Week designer fair and bought one. I still get compliments on mine - goes to show that retro styling never gets old. Handmade from vintage and reproduction fabrics, they will make your ensemble pop.
Silly me, I then forgot to keep up with this line. There are lots of designs online, and they're sold in boutiques across the U.S. I just want to buy one for every day of the week.
Helen just opened a super cool fabric store called Whizbang Fabrics in the Mission/Potrero area, so for all the crafty gals you can ooh and ahh all over the great designs! I can't sew a stitch to save my life, but perhaps I can persuade a friend to make a skirt for me...
