YSL Summer Look 2012 Makeup
Sun-kissed skin and strong, electric eyes rule the theme of the YSL Summer Look 2012 makeup collection. The color palettes are generally on the neutral side with the exception of a few bold shades.
Three new palettes (N° 7, N° 8, N° 9) are unveiled within the Pure Chromatics wet and dry eyeshadow collection. I tried the No. 8 quad, a blend of metallic forest green, golden bronze, copper and pearly ivory. The colors blended easily for a smoky look and can be used with a wet brush for an intense effect.
To attain that bronzed glow, the Terre Saharienne Collector is available in three harmonies: N° 1 Tanned (iridescent golden brown), N° 2 Sunkissed (satin rosy apricot), and N° 3 Bronzed (matte intense brown). Embossed with a python print, the formula is very silky and light. The Sunkissed palette worked well on my light-medium skin tone, giving it a subtle, healthy-looking color.
Perennial favorite Golden Gloss has four new seasonal shades: N° 51 Golden Shell, N° 52 Golden Pebble, N° 53 Golden Pearl and N° 54 Golden Sand. I just adore Golden Shell, a gorgeous golden pink.
To accentuate those pretty peepers, the new Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Waterproof won't budge one bit as you frolic at the beach. Like the regular formula, it feels light and doesn't clump. Two coats is more than enough for 100% waterproof coverage. Four colors are available: Charcoal Black, Burnt Brown, Signature Violet, and Majorelle Blue. I personally love Signature Violet, but most gals are probably gonna lust after the striking Majorelle Blue.
