Second Denim Yoga Jeans
I've been in love with Second Jeans for nearly a decade, and when my fave Hayes Valley fashion boutique stopped carrying the brand my heart was crushed beyond belief. On a recent trip to Toronto, I discovered their latest styles and washes at Trixie, a trendy boutique in the Swansea neighborhood.
Their Yoga Jeans collection is beyond amazing. The four-way stretch has excellent shape retention - they won't bag, stretch or sag after one wear. I was so smitten I snatched up the high rise Yoga 80 flare jean in Ink wash, the high rise Yoga 44 skinny jean in Indigo wash, and the new Yoga 65 slim bootcut in Forest. The minute I pulled a pair on, I looked like I lost a size. The legs are slimmed down, and the seat area is lifted and reduced. You should also size down due to the nature of the stretchy fabric, and be sure to hang dry to make them last for a long time (NO clothes dryer!).
If you're in the Toronto area, I recommend getting the jeans at Trixie on Bloor Street West. The sales team is really friendly and extremely helpful, and they'll pick the perfect cut to flatter your body type. They were also very patient with me as I tried on at least six styles. The S.O.'s eyes popped out when he saw me wearing them, so that's the best endorsement!
To see more of their styles, go to secondclothing.com. To buy their jeans online, head over to second.raiment.ca - they will ship to the U.S. Eco-conscious gals can also peruse their Eco Jeans collection. They currently sell eight styles that are made with organic cotton. They also started carrying two kinds of plus size jeans for the voluptuous ladies and the prices are far more appealing than most designer labels.
