NARS Fall 2013 Makeup
Bold matte eyes are the main focus of the NARS fall 2013 makeup collection. I tried the Kamchatka Matte Eyeshadow, one of the star shades for autumn. The deepness of the purple-navy shade is perfect for a smoky eye, yet it's not the ubiquitous grey or black smoky eye. You need a primer for this color as it can get a bit too sheer and it's best to pat it on versus blending.
I love Bavaria Shimmer Eyeshadow, which is described as a deep sea blue shade. In reality it's more like a subdued teal with a hint of shimmer. If you love color, you can wear it during the day with a sheer light layer and layer it up for nighttime. This one is more blendable so it's easier to use than Kamchatka, but it may wear off more quickly if you have oily skin.
The Peloponnese Pure Matte Lipstick is an elegant ginger pink with gold shimmer. It looked rather sheer when I swatched it on my arm, but on my lips it seemed to have bronze glints with a frosty finish. I thought it looked great with either Bavaria or Kamchatka eyeshadow. Those with chapped lips from the summery weather will need to use a conditioner before application.
