Hourglass Holiday Makeup
Need expert help with your holiday makeup? Look no further than one of the best in the beauty industry. Gina Brooke, Artistic Director of Hourglass Cosmetics, has a few easy tips on looking stellar for the holidays. Gina is also Madonna's makeup artist so she definitely knows a thing or two in creating the hottest look.
“When it comes to chic cheeks, I have a three-dimensional approach that anyone can replicate at home," Gina explains. "First, I warm the skin by applying bronzer to the high points of the face. Secondly, I add light to the complexion by using a highlighter on the apples of the cheeks, down the bridge of the nose and the jaw bone. Lastly, I apply blush strategically to the apples of the cheeks—smile when you’re doing so for the ideal application. The result is a flawless looking complexion.”
Gina recommends the Illume Crème-to-Go Powder in Sunset and Bronze Light. I tried the Sunset duo and loved the sheer rose blush shade. I found the creamy, blendable texture to be quite pigmented so a bit goes a long way. Always go lightly and build it up with a couple more layers as needed. You can also use your fingertips or a foundation/blush brush.
For the eyes Gina suggests the gold shimmering eye shadow from the Visionnaire Eye Shadow Duo in Dune. Paired with a bright coral lipstick (Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Muse), it’s a sultry look that flatters all skin tones.
For dazzling lips Hourglass has a holiday gift set. The Extreme Sheen Holiday Set features three of their popular lip glosses in mini sizes. This set is only available at Sephora.

That's a really pretty eye shadow duo. I need to try their eye shadows sometime. Love everything else I've tried from the line.
Now, if I could only have Madonna's biceps, too, in addition to her makeup favorites. ;)
Carolyn: Hah! Don't we all. ;)
