Glam Beauty Board - Fall 2012 Product Reviews
A few weeks ago I got my fall 2012 edition of the Glam Beauty Board box. The beauty editors at Glam had sent us a new array of fall must-haves and I couldn't wait to try them all. There were lots of fun drugstore options as well as luxe products from prestige brands.
I've never tried Almay, but I'm now a fan of the drugstore brand. The new Wake Up Liquid Makeup (with broad spectrum SPF 20) has a sheer, light coverage that's very blendable. The texture is moisturizing and doesn't dry up my skin. The Buff 020 shade is a tiny bit too pale, so perhaps it'll work better for me in the winter when my tan wears off.
The Wake Up Eyeliner + Highlighter is a real useful duo. The eyeliner has a super creamy texture so there's no dragging whatsoever. It also stays PUT. The highlighter part is a glittery gold shade that's perfect for layering on top of the eyeliner. Coupled with the Wake Up Eye Shadow + Primer compact in 020 Exhilarate (purple/pink/gray), it's a very easy day-to-night look.
The creamy MARK Make It Rich Lip Color Crayon is such a value at $11. The Peony shade, a cool metallic pink, will be a perfect choice for holiday parties.
As for party-ready nails, you can't beat Orly Nail Lacquer in Smolder. The dark metallic burgundy is the quintessential fall nail color, matching most fall outfits and makeup looks.
I am wowed by the Benefit Bamba Bella pink blush. The bright pink is very pretty for fall and is flattering on most skin tones. The color is super pigmented so start on the lighter side and build up as needed. It even comes with nice blush brush - so convenient!
I also like the big deluxe size of the Lorac TANtalizer Highlighter & Matte Bronzer Duo. It blends quite well and is fab for contouring. The natural matte finish goes well with the the highlighter, which adds a glowing finish when applied on top of the bronzer.
I absolutely love the La Face PUR Purifying Cleanser. This gentle and moisturizing facial wash has toner built into the formula so you can skin the toner step. My skin feels so soft after using it and I can't stop admiring the lemony floral scent.
I have dry skin during the cooler weather so the Dr. LeWinn by Kinerase Wrinkle Repair Day & Night Cream will come in handy in the coming months. It feels and look rich but it absorbs instantly into the skin. As an added bonus - it also works well under makeup.
The invigorating Juara Invigorating Coffee Scrub makes body buffing easy-peasy. Made with fresh Indonesian coffee beans, this luxurious scrub elevates your daily shower into a sumptuous spa treat. You might not be able to stop sniffing yourself after each scrub!
For no-nonsense body care, the Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Body Lotion with SPF 15 is ideal for sensitive skin. The light, fragrance-free formula absorbs quickly and is non-sticky, making it great for daily use.
The Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo & Conditioner duo locks in moisture without breaking the bank. The shampoo is so emollient that I didn't need much conditioner at all. The formula contains almond oil to lock in moisture without weighing it down.
Get sleek tresses within minutes when you use the Ojon Super Sleek Restorative Blowout Perfector. It protects against heat and is wonderful for battling frizzy hair. The light serum texture is easy to work with and you don't need much to get the desired look. Love it.
At $3 each, this cute Modella cosmetic bag is literally a steal. The size is also small enough to throw into a daily handbag without bulking it up.
