Fall 2012 Beauty Trends

Fall is my favorite time of the year. There's New York Fashion Week to check out, gorgeous coats to ogle at, and best of all, lots of new makeup to swoon over. For the 2012 fall season, beauty trends go from classic standbys to modern and edgy.

Eyes are always a huge emphasis. As a brown-eyed girl I'm always looking for new twists on green eyeshadows. Clarins is going the classic route with their pretty Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in Silver Green while Kevyn Aucoin has a Loose Shimmer Shadow in Jade - it's an adult-approved shimmer without looking like a club queen.

NARS also has a fresh, modern take on the ubiquitous purple/green combo. The limited edition High Society Trio Eyeshadow features shades of lavender, matte forest green and iridescent amethyst. The green has a smokier hue, which makes it stand out from the other brands.

For something ultra-simple yet utterly chic, Giorgio Armani's Neo-Black palette contains everything for a day-to-night look. It consists of a Sheer Beige face powder with satin eyeshadow shades in Soft Beige, Taupe and Jet Black.

Bright red lips are always a fail-proof classic for fall. Coupled with winged eyes, the polished look is easy to achieve. Laura Mercier also launched a new line of Crème Smooth Lip Colour - the Haute Red shade, a cool red, is perfect for creating this look.
