Dior Cherie Bow Spring 2013 Makeup

For spring 2013 the Dior Cherie Bow makeup collection is all about lively pinks, greys, and more pinks. Polished and chic, these two colors are the basis of a magnifique beauty presentation.

Part playful fashion accessory, part makeup compact, the Cherie Bow Palette is the star product for spring. A trio of soft pink and grey eyeshadows, black liner, and nude shimmer lipgloss are all you really need for an elegant look. The colors are definitely on the basic, neutral side, but it's always way more fun to have them displayed in a bow-shaped compact! Plus, everyone can wear these shades and it's so easy to apply them on if you're in a hurry.

Two special compacts are available in the 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette line. For those who like bolder color the Rose Charmeuse 854 will tempt you. It contains a pink beige, a rose pink, and a shimmery peach with shimmer. The bright fuchsia pink and black matte shadows stand out, and depending on your tastes, these will be the highlight of the compact. I find it easier to use the bright pink when it's blended with the other colors. By itself, it's pretty tricky to wear. And, the houndstooth pattern on these shadows are to die for, non

I prefer the Rose Ballerine 724 palette. The pinks are much more user-friendly and they blend superbly with the taupe, peach and glittery silver shades. It's much more subtle than Rose Charmeuse, but the results are just as stunning.

The Twin Set Eyeshadow pen is one of my seasonal favorites. It contains a duo of complementary shades (soft shadow & finishing shimmer powder) to create a streamlined monochromatic look. It's also convenient for travel - just twist up, swipe on, and go. Available in Ballerina Pink 840 and Grey Sigh 60, the Grey Sigh is my bet for an easy smoky eye. Layer on the eyeshadow pencil as a base, then use the foam blender with the sparkly powder to enhance the depth and color. The color also stays on for several hours without primer.

Three limited edition Dior Addict lipstick shades are available for spring: Charmante 437 (shiny coral), Candide 457 (light pink) and Espiegle 687 (fuchsia). Sheer and light, these pretty hues won't be too bold, but will add an beautiful wash of shimmery color.

Last but not least, three Dior Vernis nail polish shades complete the Cherie Bow collection: Rosy Bow 355, Tutu 155 and Gris Trianon 306. The Rosy Bow and Gris Trianon are fairly pigmented so two coats is enough to achieve an opaque effect. I personally adore Gris Trianon — it's the perfect choice for a Parisienne!

Available at Dior.com and all Dior counters.

LOL Actually, thanks to you, pink-gray-black shadows have become my favorite go-to eye makeup. It goes so well with anything you're wearing, and it's perfect night or day.
