Bobbi Brown Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation
I generally favor liquid foundations over powder ones but at long last Bobbi Brown's new Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation SPF 12 is now available. Bobbi has spent over five long years to perfect this formula and her hard work has really paid off.
In the past I've tried several brands of mineral powder foundation and they tend to sit right on the skin, giving it a thick, heavy layer that's quite undesirable. The worst part is that these types of foundations also tend to overly emphasize the fines lines. As a result you tend to look pretty decent from a distance but up close it's downright annoying.
With Bobbi's new powder foundation, there's no need to worry about such problems. The reflective pigments give off a lovely, radiant look that lasts all day. Available in twenty shades, the lightweight finish is extremely natural looking. The velvety matte texture doesn't streak and applies evenly. I'm a light-medium tone, so I found that the Warm Sand shade would be great for my winter skin while Warm Beige is better for summer.
The beauty of this product is that you can apply it in three ways for a sheer to medium finish. Use a wet sponge for the heaviest coverage, or use a dry one for a lighter look. You can also dust it with a powder brush for an ultra sheer coverage.
To perfect the look I highly recommend using the Corrector to hide extremely dark circles. It seems to be the only thing that covers up my genetic raccoon eyes. It did such a great job that I didn't even need to apply another layer of concealer on top. You can, of course, for extra coverage but I found that blending in the foundation did the trick.

I usually hate powder foundations but I love this one, and I absolutely adore Bobbi's Corrector. It does such a good job hiding under eye circles!
I've tried -- and stopped -- using mineral powders for that same reason. It looks great for the first few hours, but by the afternoon, it's creeping into all your fine lines and accentuating them. The Bobbi Brown powder foundation sounds fabulous if it can last all day and still look great.
