16th New Italian Cinema (11/11-11/18)
November 7, 2012 This weekend, the 16th New Italian Cinema will kick off with a huge Valeria Golino tribute. Starting with An Evening with Valeria Golino, the acclaimed actress will screen a selection from her new feature-length directorial debut, "Vi Perdono" ("I Forgive You"), as well as her short film "Armandino e il Madre." Following a brief Q&A the event will screen "Kryptonite!" ("La Kryptonite Nella Borsa").

UNIQLO Heattech
November 5, 2012 Before the UNIQLO store opened in San Francisco, I swung by their pop-up store with Stephanie, my expert shopping buddy from Stiletto Jungle. She had raved so much about their Heattech undergarments that I was instantly intrigued. I didn't think the ultra-thin fabric could generate so much heat, but I was happily proven otherwise.

Vosges Harvest Moon Truffles & Crispy Carrot Bar
November 2, 2012 Vosges Haut-Chocolat always has fun goodies each fall, and I was delighted to review the new Harvest Moon Truffle Collection. The 9-piece box contains a trio of new fall flavors: Fig, Sage Honey, and Field Songs.

My favorite was Field Songs, a silky blend of 45% milk chocolate, maple syrup and roasted yam. It was garnished with a few tiny African Grains of Paradise, which I've never tasted before. As I nibbled on them, a spicy, pleasing warmth permeated my palate - a lovely holiday treat for sure.

Dior Grand Bal Holiday 2012 Makeup
October 30, 2012 Inspired by Christian Dior's love for entertaining, the Grand Bal holiday 2012 collection promises to seduce and enchant everyone. Not surprisingly, you'll see lots of shimmery golds, browns, and bronze for the eyes, and classic reds for the lips.
They offer many palettes this season and I got to try the 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes. The Night Golds 524 is sooo easy to use. A warm melange of metallic and shimmery gold, bronze and brown, these gorgeous shades are very blendable and a joy to work with. There is very little fallout with the gold flecks, so that's always a win. The 764 Fairy Golds is more subdued with mauve, beige and champagne, but it's just as pretty. This one I'd use more for daytime, but it still has enough glitter to add lots of holiday pizzazz.

October 28, 2012 When I first learned about Abreva Conceal, its concept sounded rather cool so I wanted to try it out. It's a clear, non-medicated patch that's designed to conceal cold sores for up to 8 hours. Basically, it acts as a protective barrier that allows air in with MicroAir technology while keeping contaminants out. I didn't have a cold sore when I reviewed it, so I tried it out on a few blemishes. Here's how you use it:
