Vivid Lip Colors for Spring
Not only am I seeing bright nail colors and eyeshadows everywhere for spring, vivid lips are all the rage right now. Neon pink, bright tangerine, and deep purple are popping up all over the beauty counters.

I've been using the Clarisonic Mia facial cleansing brush for a while, so I was quite curious to see whether the Aria is worth the hype. For starters, the Aria has three speed settings (low, medium, high). The regular Mia only has one setting while the Mia 2 has two. The Aria can also switch between a one-minute or two-minute T-timer in case you want extra cleaning time.
Already a cult favorite amongst beauty editors, skincare addicts everywhere are now fawning over the new Clarins Double Serum. Packed with 20 plant extracts, the serum addresses five main areas of skin health: hydration, nutrition, oxygenation, protection and regeneration.
Spring is officially here and I've been experimenting with brighter nail colors. I was inspired by the simple floral nail art design from Happie Belle, so I went to Target to buy some CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss ($4.75) to replicate the look.
Leave it to NARS to create another winner with the new Satin Lip Pencil. Lightweight and smooth as silk, the 13-shade collection boasts strong pigmentation and a super creamy formula. Enriched with vitamins, these colors keep your lips comfortable and hydrated throughout the day.
From now until September 1, 2013, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is spreading awareness for their Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women and Girls. Dedicated to empowering women and girls with access to education, resources, job skills, and work experience, the campaign will raise funds through the sale of the limited-edition Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge ($25) and via GlobalGiving.org. In the U.S., every cent of the sales proceeds from this pot rouge will benefit Dress for Success, an organization which Bobbi has worked with for many years.
When the Eminence Age Corrective Night Collection landed on my doorstep, I was terribly excited to try it out. The entire line is designed for normal-to-dry and mature skin types and all four products feature the Argan Stem Cell Complex to improve skin density and smooth the appearance of wrinkles. Other nourishing ingredients include shea butter, evening primrose oil, argan oil and jojoba. Used nightly for two months, you will see a 26% decrease in wrinkle depth.
Last weekend, I had the chance to visit RN74 Seattle, the second location of the popular wine bar and restaurant in San Francisco. Nearly two years have passed since its Pacific Northwest debut, and the French-inspired cuisine was on par with the exceptional quality that I've come to expect from the Mina Group.
With Chef Seis Kamimura at the helm, we were in great hands. We chose the monthly tasting menu ($85) as well as a sampling of dishes from the regular menu. I started with the Chilled Shellfish Plateau, a gorgeous melange of crab, prawn, sea urchin, and geoduck. Dressed in bright lemon oil and watercress, it was a sumptuous start to a decadent meal. The prawn's flesh was especially plump and bouncy, attesting to its über freshness.
It's time to break out the bright eyeshadows! Nothing's more fun than wearing bold makeup to reflect the spring season. Here are a few ideas below for inspiration:
I love the chartreuse look. Done carefully, it can be an elegant showstopper for any special occasion. They key is to choose a shade that complements your skin tone. Also, be sure to use a light layer of eyeshadow and add more product as needed.
